Mildura Rural City Council 2023-24 Draft Budget

Mildura Rural City Council’s Draft Budget for the 2023-24 Financial Year focuses on continuing to deliver for our community. Our proposed Budget sets out approximately $149.22 million in expenditure. Much of this is committed to funding community services, facilities and infrastructure to support local residents and regional growth in line with our 2021-25 Council Plan.

Rates

In 2023-24 rates are proposed to increase by 3.5% in line with the State Government’s Rate Capping policy. Council has worked to cut the amount by which rates increase each year to reduce the burden on property owners. It is anticipated Council will collect a total of $86.35 million through municipal rates, including waste charges.Budget Breakdown

The proposed Council Budget for the 2023-24 Financial Year is $149.22 million. These figures detail how the budget is allocated to the many different services and facilities Council provides to help make our community a safe, prosperous, and healthy place to live, work, play and visit.

Community feedback on the 2023-24 Draft Budget closes at 5pm on Friday 2 June 2023. Thanks to those who took the time to have their say. Feedback will now be collated and presented to Councillors ahead of the June Ordinary Council Meeting.
