Mildura Rural City Council’s Environmental Engagement Action Plan 2024-2028 has been released for public comment.

We welcome your feedback.

Council has actively delivered environmental education for several years. By increasing awareness about environmental sustainability, we aim to build a more resilient community that uses fewer resources, produces less waste and can better manage the increasing costs associated with energy and water consumption.

The plan aims to set the action for environmental education over the next four years. It is structured around five key areas:

  • Climate change
  • Energy
  • Water
  • Biodiversity
  • Circular economy and waste

The Environmental Engagement Action Plan includes the following key actions

  • Development and implementation of environmental education programs targeting children and youth
  • Utilisation of the Mildura Eco Village as a key environmental learning and awareness facility
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual environmental education and awareness plan.
