Feedback is now being sought on Mildura Rural City Council’s draft Tourism Signage Audit, Review and Strategy.
The five-year Strategy has been developed by tourism signage consultants Wayfound following on-site inspections of current tourism signage across our municipality, and consultation with key stakeholders, business and industry.
The Strategy aims to ensure that current and future signage facilitates promote safe and positive journeys, while also enhancing visitor connection with the people and places of our region.
The Strategy addresses key actions over a five-year period. Actions within the strategy provides the framework for Council to make decisions on the location and style of all future tourism signage and wayfinding signage. It also contains clear guidelines for developing policies and processes that assist in implementing a suite of distinctive, innovative and consistent tourism.
Other objectives include:
- Improving how visitors are made aware of, and guided to, the diverse experiences, attractions and tourism services across the Mildura municipality
- Improving access to the region and its destinations, particularly those with tours, products and experiences that visitors can enjoy
- Enhancing the visitor experience and the amenity of the community
- Enhancing the region’s reputation as a tourism destination by encouraging consistent themes and innovative and distinctive signage across the municipality.
