About the Mildura Economic Development Strategy 2026-2031

The Mildura Economic Development Strategy 2026–2031 will provide Council with a clear direction to achieve economic growth outcomes that supports Mildura’s vision to be a 'liveable, people-friendly community'.

Between November and December 2025, we invited local businesses and community members to share their views through a survey to help us better understand the challenges, opportunities and priorities for our local economy. This was supported by targeted stakeholder discussions and community-based workshops.

What we heard has informed the draft Mildura Economic Development Strategy 2026–2031, which sets out Council’s approach to supporting a strong, diverse and resilient local economy over the next five years.

It recognises Council's role as the economic and service centre for north-west Victoria and the broader tri-state region. It responds to the opportunities and challenges identified through research, data analysis and community and industry engagement - shaped by local conditions, workforce and population trends, industry strengths, infrastructure, liveability and broader economic forces.

The draft strategy aligns with Council’s Community Vision, Council Plan and other key local, regional and state strategies that guide planning, infrastructure, housing, skills and investment.

Have your say on the draft strategy by completing the feedback form below by Thursday 4 June 2026.
