About the day

The Emergency Services Day is a FREE event on Thursday, 28 May 2026, and will showcase our local Emergency Services and the diverse range of career and volunteer roles available.

Attendees will be able to access information, education, and resources to help them respond effectively in an emergency, with the goal of strengthening preparedness and building a more resilient community. Interactive displays will be available along with a Q&A with emergency services personnel so get your questions ready!

Agencies in attendance and activities on the day:

  • Victoria Police and NSW Police – Displaying a full range of policing vehicles
  • Fire Rescue Victoria- Emergency vehicles and water pumper display
  • Country Fire Authority and NSW Rural Fire Service – Interactive firefighting vehicle equipment display, Remote Piloted Aircraft systems (weather permitting)
  • Ambulance Victoria – Medical information, career guidance and vehicle tour
  • Victoria State Emergency Services – Jaws of life demonstration, SES vehicle display
  • Australian Red Cross – Safety phone app demonstration, REDI plan templates and assistance to develop one, quiz and prizes
  • Mildura Life Saving Club – Rescue boat on display
  • Community RoadSafe Mildura and Wentworth Shire Council – Bus, Car, walking safety as well as bike education, blind spot education
  • Mildura Rural City Council – Public Safety information
  • Army Reserves – G-Wagon, 40 Meter truck, Inflatable obstacle course

All who attend will receive a complimentary REDIbag at the arrival gate. Council will also provide students with an event “passport”, that will be marked off at each of the stands that they visit.

Jaws of Life will be demonstrated at 10.30am and 1pm
