Changes are proposed to Community Local Law No. 2 to reflect the Local Government Act 2020.

The majority of proposed changes relate to removing duplication with State Legislation, simplification of wording, clarification when considering permits and review of definitions.

The purpose of the Local Law is to:

Ensure the peace, order and good government of the municipality. It relates to a wide variety of issues including use of public reserves, consumption of alcohol in public places, use of streets, roads and footpaths and Council land, keeping of animals, control and regulation of emissions to the air, burning off and disposal of rubbish.
