Changes are proposed to Community Local Law No. 5 - Protection of Council Assets and Control of Building Sites - to reflect the Local Government Act 2020.
The majority of proposed changes are administrative in nature to ensure consistency, avoid confusion and simplify wording. The proposed changes also relate to removal of duplication with State Legislation and clarification when considering permits and review of definitions.
The purpose of the Local Law is to:
Ensure the peace, order and good government of the municipality. It relates to a wide variety of issues including protection of council assets on road reserves, stormwater protection, use of streets, roads and footpaths and containment, removal and disposal of builder’s refuse.
