About the Tourism Strategy 2026-2031

Council is preparing a Tourism Strategy 2026-2031. This Strategy will provide Council with a clear direction on events, visitor servicing and strategic marketing that supports Mildura’s vision to be a 'liveable, people-friendly community'.

As part of the project, we are asking local event organisers, businesses and community members to complete a survey to help understand specific issues and opportunities for the region, as well as identify the tourism priorities and needs of event organisers, business owners and residents.

Please complete the survey below by 22 December 2025 if you wish to have your say and help shape outcomes for the Mildura Local Government Area.

Background

The Mildura Tourism Strategy will be an important strategic document for Council, having recently taken over economic development and tourism functions from Mildura Regional Development. As such, the Strategy, will incorporate strategic tourism marketing, events & visitor servicing and will have an accompanying five-year Action Plan which will provide important guidance for a clear direction to achieve economic development outcomes that supports Council’s vision.

The Strategy will:

  • Consolidate and align Council’s tourism efforts across departments,
  • Develop a five-year action plan to guide events, tourism & visitor servicing for the region, and
  • Establish clear, measurable goals and priorities to enhance tourism across the region.
