Mildura Rural City Council 2024-25 Draft Budget
Mildura Rural City Council’s Draft Budget for the 2024-25 Financial Year focuses on continuing to deliver for our community. Our proposed Budget sets out approximately $162.48 million in operational and capital expenditure. Much of this is committed to funding community services, facilities and infrastructure to support local residents and regional growth in line with our 2021-25 Council Plan.
Rates
In 2024-25 rates are proposed to increase by 2.75% in line with the State Government’s Rate Capping policy. Council has worked to cut the amount by which rates increase each year to reduce the burden on property owners. It is anticipated Council will collect a total of $90.23 million through municipal rates, including waste charges.
Borrowings
The $1.5 million in proposed borrowings would be used to finance (or assist in financing) the acquisition of 70 Deakin Avenue, Mildura, or any strategically important property that comes onto the market during the Financial Year, and that Council considers should be acquired.
