Mansell Reserve Masterplan Update
Why your ideas are important.
Mildura Rural City Council is seeking feedback from key stakeholders and the broader community for a Masterplan update to Mansell Reserve.
Mansell Reserve is a Township Sporting Reserve in northwest Mildura. The Public Open Space Strategy (Tredwell 2021) identified that Mansell Reserve was to remain high quality and cater for a shortage of open space in the local catchment.
Mansell Reserve was developed in 1955 to support the growth of Woman Sports and Recreation, in particular the codes of netball, softball and hockey. That growth continued and hockey and softball relocated to Aero Ovals in the 1990's. Mildura Netball Association continued to use the reserve until 2021 when they relocated to Mildura Sporting Precinct.
The previous masterplan was undertaken in 2004. Responding to the recent change in demand for the dedicated netball courts; council has decided to revisit the masterplan. This is a timely opportunity for the broader community and stakeholders to provide feedback that can influence future upgrades and community use of this valuable open space.
