Current Status

Mildura Rural City Council has prepared Amendment C121mild to the Mildura Planning Scheme. The amendment is open for public comment from 21 March 2024 as published in the Victorian Government Gazette. Written submissions are invited to be provided prior to close of business on Monday, 29 April 2024.

What does the amendment propose?

Amendment C121mild proposes to rezone land at 13 Dal Farra Road, Irymple to a low density residential purpose.

More specifically, the amendment proposes to:

  • Rezone the land from the Farming Zone (FZ) to the Low Density Residential Zone, Schedule 1 (LDRZ1).
  • Apply the Design and Development Overlay, Schedule 16 (DDO16 – 13 Dal Farra Road, Irymple) to the land.
  • Apply the Development Plan Overlay, Schedule 2 (DPO2 – Low Density Residential Areas) to the land.
  • Apply the Salinity Management Overlay (SMO) to the land.
  • Inserts a new Schedule 16 to the Design and Development Overlay (DDO16) into the planning scheme.

How is council giving notice to landowners, interested parties and key groups?

The Planning and Environment Act 1987, requires Council to notify anyone that it considers may be affected by an amendment and is writing directly to landowners and property occupiers adjacent to the land, along with other key interest groups to tell them about the amendment, along with other types of advertising in the media such as the local newspaper and this webpage.

The notice and guide provide broad information on some matters to consider including in your written submission, how to send your submission to Council and the closing date for written submissions, along with other important details about the amendment and the next steps in the statutory process.

Your Privacy

Please note that submissions are provided to the Planning Authority in accordance with the Planning and Environment Act 1987. Submissions are part of an open public process where all parties affected by the planning scheme can provide input into the amendment. If you choose to make a submission, you consent to your submission being made public, and being identified as the author of the submission. Your submission will be made available for public inspection at Mildura Rural City Council until two months after final approval of the planning scheme amendment.

Next Steps

When the formal comment period closes, Council will consider the submissions received and prepare a response to the matters raised for reporting to Council. Councillors will be asked to resolve on the responses prepared to the matters raised.
